  • We offer unlimited rescheduling of private lessons through TeacherZone. Just log in to your student account, navigate to Scheduling, then Weekly Lessons from the menu. 

    Once your weekly calendar is up, click on the lesson you would like to change. You can either cancel or reschedule. If you click Reschedule, a list of available times that day will appear. Just select the open time you’d like, or click on another day on the calendar to see the available times.

    If you can’t find a time right away or will be on vacation, you can just cancel the lesson. Canceled lessons are “banked” or stored for later use up to 60 days, so you have two months to find another time to come in. 

    However, within 24 hours, we pay the teacher for their time whether you’re there or not, so these lessons are just missed. 



  • Students who sign up for recurring lessons will keep the same day and time unless otherwise arranged. We will hold it for you, and we also presume that you will be coming unless you tell us otherwise. We expect 30 days’ notice to discontinue private lessons. If a student discontinues without 30 days’ notice they are still responsible for the full month’s payment.

  • To set up online billing, go to 

    and enter in your username and password. This will be emailed to you automatically when we set up your account with TeacherZone, after you fill out our Registration Form

    Next, click “Payments and Billing” on the left-hand side, then on “Add New Payment Method.” Enter in your preferred method and you’re done! 

    NOTE: If you’re on a mobile device, you’ll have to click on your photo to get the proper menu to show up. 

  • Students must give 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a lesson. Within 24 hours notice, I’ll have to pay the teachers for their time whether you are there or not, so without 24 hours’ notice the lesson will not be rescheduled and the student will be charged for the lesson. 

    Unfortunately, we cannot reschedule group classes. If a student requests to reschedule a private lesson more than 24 hours in advance Backbeat Music Academy will make every effort to accommodate the request. One student-rescheduled lesson is allowed per student per month.

    As working musicians, our teachers will occasionally have performances that conflict with lesson times. If this occurs, students will be notified in advance and will be provided with an awesome substitute teacher for the lesson. Musical performances are necessary for our teachers to maintain their skills and value as educators.

  • There is a $10 late fee for payment received after the first day of the month and a $20 fee for returned payments.

  • TeacherZone is a 3rd party service that we use for online scheduling, bill paying, and teacher-student communication. Each student gets an account, and their teacher will log in attendance, weekly challenges and provides a platform for students to log practice time and to communicate with their teachers and their classmates. Parents will also get an account. For everyone’s safety, messages cannot be deleted, so you can always see everything that was said. TeacherZone also provides an easy way to reschedule lessons. 

  • In the event of inclement weather, Backbeat Music Academy follows the lead of Beaverton Public Schools and will be closed. Please use TeacherZone to reschedule these lessons as well. 

  • Our address is 9575 Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway, Suite B20, Beaverton OR 97005. We are in the basement around the back.  

  • Feel free to park on the street or in our buildings parking lot. The safe places are marked in green. Nobody has been towed as of yet for parking in another lot, but there are towing signs up. Please note that the little road right outside our walkway is a long driveway to a flag lot business.
