Yes! We do teach adults as well as kids, and no, you won’t be the only one. Sure, elementary school-aged kids are, by volume, most of the students but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t plenty of adults, too! We also understand the busy, hectic lives you have – it’s one reason why we make cancelling and rescheduling so easy.

You’ll also be happy to know that adults can learn as fast as kids can. Sure, kids have the big advantage of having their 9-5 be as a student. They have the time, expectation and identify of being a learner, while us adults have to squeeze it in bit-by-bit. The other big advantage kids have is their lack of experience – because they don’t have their own opinions, their brains are a bit of a blank slate for teachers to write on. However, that’s a 2-edged sword. Adults have lots of experience that they can bring to bear, and with the right reframing, that can be practice you’ve already done. These learning shortcuts just aren’t available to kids – and us teachers have to spend a lot of time providing a lot of the experience you already have. But the main advantage adults have is that they are able to choose what they pay attention to and how. This is an absolutely enormous advantage that allows adults to make the most out of limited time.
